Stayed at the Channel Inn for 3 days last weekend. The rooms are large and VERY clean. Yes, the decor could use an upgrade , but, the staff is so wonderful. The location is perfect , right on the water, and close to the Smithsonian and the Solar Decathalon. We were very impressed w/ the breakfast, dinner, and brunch in... more

Work put me up in this hotel and it was awful. The outside is un-friendly and drab, but it was our room that really was the problem. The room felt a little dingy upon arrival - I could see stains on the carpet and the bedspread, but we went with it because we didn't want to cause problems, though we... more

I read some reviews regarding security and we never had any issues with that. Our van was parked in their garage for 5 days and was never touched either. The entire facitlity is worn out but for the price in downtown DC, it was tolerable. Our room had a balcony overlooking the marina and channel. It was great sitting out... more

Stayed here for two nights in April. The room was very large, the bed was comfy and clean, but there was no information about either the hotel or the surrounding area in the room. We found that the staff weren't that friendly; they weren't rude they just didn't make any effort to be friendly! The Pier 7 restaurant was very... more

We stayed here for 3 nights (not long enough). It was a wonderful hotel. Clean, modern and felt luxurious without the megga expense. We saw Marine1 fly by which was a bonus and my son loved it. Lovely friendly bar for the father/son to play chess in whilst waiting for the women. A restaurant with wonderfull food and nearby is... more

Had to do a two week stint at the Washington Navy Yard -- usually get berthing at the Navy Lodge in Anacostia (not so good) or at Bolling AFB (nice!). For some reason there was nothing available, so I was told to get a hotel in town. It's not far from the Yard, so I chose the Channel Inn. A... more

While staying at the hotel for Cherry Blossom Festival on April 6 our room was burglarized. We had made reservations at the restaurant down stairs for 8pm. We were seated giving them our room number. After having our table changed by the head waiter about 25 minutes in to our evening, the waite staff came and took our order again,... more

We were given a room with 1 bed for 4 people which was immediately changed for 2 double beds overlooking the water. This, we thought was a great idea because there were to be fireworks at night. The hotel was old but clean, so for the price we were ok with everything. At 2:30 AM I was awoken with my... more
