My husband and I stayed here 10 nights and absolutely loved it. I'm very picky about cleanliness and this motel filled the bill. We were in a room overlooking the channel and the views were great! Yes, it has hotel decor but IT'S A HOTEL!!! Fantastic location. It took us 13 to 15 minutes to walk to the mall; metro... More

If you're doing a tourist trip to DC and don't want to spend the earth or stay in a backpackers this place is perfect. The Channel Inn is only about two miles from the Washington Memorial, White House etc and was far cheaper than anything else in which was as close. The hotel itself is pretty tired, decor is early... I was booked into this hotel at a discounted rate with an airline voucher after missing my connecting flight out of Washington DC. I called the hotel and they told me a shuttle would come by soon. The van filled up quickly with "distressed travelers." It seemed that the airline's bad air traffic control night would be a windfall for... More

I stayed at the Channel Inn in DC for three nights last week. I had really low expectations because of the reviews I'd read - I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. We (my husband and 3 kids and I) arrived at about 11:00 am. The front desk staff was reserved, but efficient - not rude at all. We were... More

This hotel is nothing to look at, but scores well for the location alone. I loved looking out over the Potomac. It was quiet during our stay. Yes, the rooms are dated and they did not have a coffeemaker. Rooms were clean. The units need coffeemeakers!!! Pool was clean. No issues and they assisted with the storage of our bicycles... More

Very good location on waterfront and within easy walking distance of central Washington. Limited restaurants nearby and hotel restaurant a little bit pretentious. Staff not very helpful or knowledgable. Rooms very good and comfortable. Would recommend. More

With the exception of two staff members, the entire hotel staff must have learned their hospitality as guards in a war prison. The facility itself is dated, uncared for and not comfortable. I was there for two weeks and lock on my door had to be reprogrammed everyday! This was a common problem for other guests as well. Yet the... More

You have to know what you're getting when you come here: Free parking in underground lot and a cheap price within walking distance to the mall. That's why we chose this place. Would I stay here again? Probably not. We absolutely needed parking for our car and didn't want to pay crazy prices. Would probably opt for Arlington or Alexandria--some... More

First, let me say that unless I needed to, I would choose a better located and more upkept hotel than the Channel Inn. The hotel is stuck in a time warp. The rooms are smallish and dark although they are clean. I had a room with a balcony overlooking the marina, which was nice, but the bed was not-so-comfy and... More

we arrived at the hotel about 11:30 am, having walked the few blocks from the subway in a downpour. The older man at the front desk did not even look up. When he finally did ask if he could help and we said we wanted to check in, he snapped, "can't check in until at least 2:30 or 3:00." My... More
