I found this hotel on-line when looking for a good deal on a room. The hotel was a little hard to find on getting there. Staff at the hotel is extremely friendly and go out of their way to help out. I arrived earlier than check in time, the reception staff was very helpful and gave me an early check-in.... more

We got a great rate on this hotel and it truly came with everything we could want - a super location (less than 2 blocks to Union Station, which is a safe, clean metro stop, Amtrak station, and shopping area), a clean, modern, and comfortable room, FREE internet access (LOVE that!), and a large, clean bathroom with Aveda products. My... more

Hello danapd, I am glad that you got a good rate and also everything you wanted in a hotel. I see you liked the location and the room. I know the front desk do what they can to help and I am happy to see that they went the extra mile and lent cufflinks to your husband! That is what...

I was pleased to get a good rate at the George Hotel at the last minute, especially since it was perfectly situated for business I had around near the Capitol. But my overall experience left me wanting - a lot. The room was sizable, but I am not a fan of hard mattresses. Also, the room had one of those... more

We are a family of 4, with children ages 7 and 13, who stayed at The Hotel George, 15 E Street NW, Washington D.C., for five nights in mid-October 2009. We picked this hotel because it is within easy walking distance of most of the Smithsonian museums, the major D.C. monuments, and the Government buildings that we were interested in... more

Hotel was very nice and clean! We even got a starbucks gc when we checked in. The bathroom was very nice and big. The only complaint is that the room smelled a little like cheap perfume! more

I'm not sure why I keep trying with these Kimpton Hotels but I have yet to enjoy my stay at one of them. The most recent stay is no different. The rooms are usually nice enough, though this time was an exception, but the staff always ruins the experience for me. While patiently waiting to check in, and next in... more

I've stayed at the George for years, largely because of it's great location and funky yet friently environment. My last TWO stays there I've seen them start to slide. Examples include HVAC units not working, wake up calls scheduled not coming through, hair products not in the room, coffee makers that don't work, etc... So if you're headed to DC... more

Booked this hotel thru Hotwire since it is so close to Union Station. Had some difficulty finding it the first time. The proximity to the Union Station is a big plus. Not many stores nearby and per the suggestion of one of the staff, we bought water and snacks from the nearby liquor store. The staff was very friendly at... more

The Hotel George is that perfect mix of good value, convenient location and quality, with some lovely touches thrown in like free wine in the evenings. Our double queen bed room was not large but for the price we did extremely well. While the hotel is perfectly situated for travel to and from Union Station, and is close to the... more

This hotel is in a great location one block from the Smithsonian Postal Museum, two blocks from Union Station (Metro, Amtrak and dining / shopping); it's an easy walk to the Capitol and most Capitol Hill destinations. Decor is contemporary and upscale. "George" refers to George Washington, whose image is featured in artwork throughout public areas and on large, attractive... more
