From the street Aldan Lodge looks rather dated, but the units have been refurbished. Unfortunately we found ourselves in a pokey downstairs room directly underneath the office and with hardly any natural light. The cold tiled floor and stark lighting gave the room a less than welcoming feel, although the bed and kitchen facilities were OK. The TV reception here... more

We only spent one night here. The unit was clean, large and well equipped. Location is quiet and central with a supermarket just across the road. more

We didn't know anything about the Aldan - we picked it based on a listing in Jason's while we planned our trip to the South Island. It was perfect for a quick stop over (or even a bit longer).
