We loved our stay here. We stayed in the main house and had a queen bed. The toilets were (1) inside, (2) outside. Two indoor kitchens, and a big outdoor kitchen. The staff is wonderful. Our night in the stargazer was a very nice experience. The outdoor showers are a bit rustic, but nevertheless clean and do the job. The kitchen was spotless and well maintained, we liked the homebrew, but the best of all is the view from the outdoor sitting area

Hard to define whether we were the wrong people for the place or the place was just wrong. We booked a 'Stargazer' - a wooden "tent" with a foam mattress on the floor. Have been to Onuku Farm Hostel twice now and have had a great time on both trips, both as a solo traveller and with my partner. It's an easy escape from Christchurch and feels like your miles from anything else. The stargazer huts are particularly cool and the views are magnificent.
