Stayed here for a weekend away with he girlfriend. It was a mere 35 mins from Riga Central Station to Valmiera, then another 20 mins in a taxi (!5 Lats) or you could walk if luggage isn't an issue..!!! Great experience, if you are looking for an oasis of relaxation in the middle of the countryside. A well refurbished old manor with a well maintained park garden and numerous halls and studies. An absolute gem of a hotel in the depths of the Latvian countryside. Stay in the middle of the week as it is quieter - no parties, weddings, etc. Their website is very good at describing what you can expect from your stay and the photos represent reality rather than being stylised.
