I spent two nights in this hotel in early 2000 in it's deluxe room and found it a bargain: just what these small hotels offer instead of the big ones with less individual touch and with a bulk of people brought in by a travel agency/tour operator. I needed to book a room again after almost a decade, so I... More

This hotel is far from a luxurious stay, but there are some really good qualities to it. It is really well situated, close to Riga Arena and city center, it has free parking, really good breakfast and it is rather on the cheap side. We could hear our next door (and above) neighbours a bit too well, but that didn't... More

Typical moderately-priced European hotel--lots of stairs, small rooms, few amenities. Reservations required at peak times. The buffet breakfast included in the room price was excellent. There was a wide variety of choices in a very comfortable room. More

Caveat: It can be a bit unfair to rate a hotel after having just flown in from halfway around the world. We stayed there 4 nights and picked this hotel as our first destination because of the $ we got it at on Priceline. The room sat off by itself around the corner, at the end of a hallway. The... More

My first impression was walking through a dreary courtyard. Yes, the hotel has an elevator, but it only goes to the 5th floor ; my room was on the 6th. Strike 1 . I was told , when I checked in, that the wifi wasn't working. Since it was a Saturday, the technician would not come to the rescue, until... More

I am a bit surprised at the mediocre reviews this place has had. We thought it was excellent value for money and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We met up with friends from Holland for the weekend and they also enjoyed their stay at Art Laine. Breakfast was generous and provided for all tastes. Our room was very spacious and warm,... More

Although beyond the centre of the old town the location through a quirky courtyard to the hotel entrance was a novel experience and it didn't end there as the reception was on the third floor. We checked into room 708 and we were told that our bags would be brought up in ten minutes (They's been in storage after we... More

When our taxi dropped us from the airport I thought there had been a mistake. We were at a normal, if handsome, residential building. I was surprised to find that the hotel was tucked away on the upper floors, and the main entrance was a ordinary-looking block of flats door across a courtyard. I forget which floor the reception was... More

I have stayed at the Hotel Laine many times before on business trips to Riga. As have other work colleagues. I am afraid I feel the hotel has deteriorated recently ,as on my arrival the bar was closed and there were no food being cooked, the mini bar also had no beers in the fridge. My room was cold, I... We went for a late December Christmas shopping trip, plus a look round the Art Nouveau architecture. This hotel is ideally situated for a walk to Albert St with its grand architecture. The weather was cold (-11C) and snowy, but the hotel was warm throughout and the hotel taxi collected us and returned us to the airport safely and efficiently.... More
