On the road from Budapest to Krakow (and Auschwitz), Banska Bystrica is worth a stay over. Even worth a visit on its own even though it is in the middle of central Slovakia, a part of the world not often visited by most tourists. Nice Hotel, pleasant surprise. Very nice overall.
