We stayed at Pension Rideg last month and were quite disappointed with it. There was nothing particularly awful about it but overall it did not meet our expectations.

The main problem is that the rooms look nothing at all like any of the photos on the web. Everything is shabby and dated, it feels like you are staying with elderly relatives. The beds were lumpy if not horribly uncomfortable.

Pension Rideg is advertised as 3 star on most websites but does not feel like it.

There are positive sides to staying here. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the showers are thermally heated so the are lovely and hot as well as powerful. The owners are very friendly, but they don't speak any English, only German or Hungarian.

Our stay was not expensive but wasn't the cheapest available either.

Overall I would say that if you were to find yourself staying at Pension Rideg you wouldn't be so horrified that you would have to leave, but you wouldn't... more
