I'll start my review by saying that the front desk staff at this hotel is excellent...and the location is really close to everything..the breakfast was more than adequate, and served in a beautiful old vaulted basement room...this is an old hotel that someone carefully renovated in the 1990's,I think..the problem is that it isn't being kept up and nothing works like... My husband and I booked a room here because it was inexpensive and well located, but sometimes you really do get what you pay for. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, the room got next to no natural light, and the lighting was so poor I couldn't get my solar-powered calculator to work, even with all the lights turned on. The... I stayed for one night in a superior double room with Jacuzzi in September 2011. The hotel is very tired, with worn carpets in the public areas. The room itself was large and airy, but the furnishings were extremely tired in places. The bathroom had also seen better todays, but to be fair the room was reasonably clean. The main... More

Nicely renovated with modern bathrooms, this is a small, old-fashioned hotel where you leave your key at the desk when you go out. This beautiful old building is in a nice location: a quiet side street near the main attractions. A small but very clean room with tall ceilings and charming antiques; the double bed might be seem too cozy... More

It's a little funny at first to find a 1920's America themed hotel in Budapest but we could not have been happier with our stay. Convenient location on a quiet street our room (the Fred Astaire room) was large, air conditioned and comfortable. Breakfast was AMAZING with long hours of operation from 7am to 11am. The price was great...we stayed... More

The cotton club hotel is set in one of the huge old apartment blocks in Budapest. Our room was huge with 12 foot ceilings. Not a hugely busy road, but with excellent soundproofing anyway. A short walk from all the sights. Breakfast is served in an amazing brick vaulted cellar that also doubles as a venue fir music and comedy... More

If you're into hotels with character and want to experience something different from the norm, then you just HAVE to visit this beautiful hotel! From the minute we saw it, right through to when we left, it was such a great experience during our 2 night stay in Budapest. I had booked this for my partner's Christmas present and as... More

This is a great little hotel, well located and amazing value for money. The rooms are all themed and have high ceilings, dark wooden floors and big old wardrobes...not sure how old they actually are but they have done a very good job of making the rooms look old fashioned and stylish. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was standard... More

I visited Budapest just for I night in March 2010 as many do after first arriving in Bratislava. My friend found this hotel on the Internet and was amazed how cheap it was compared to the room they offered. We paid €50 and stayed in the Al Capone room. A very nice room, big bed, TV, lounge, jazzuci and the... More
