Stayed at this hotel in April 2007. Was a bit uncertain when booking, as the reviews were pretty different, but the place proved to be an excellent choice! 46 Euro for a single room in central Budapest! This is a great little hotel to stay in if you are on a cheap short break with friends. We had a four bedded room which worried about but it turned out to be great, although they do get hot as the Air Con is not the greatest! Oh and take ear plugs as the trams are a bit noisy!... more

I just returned from Budapest where I stayed 3 nights at the Csaszar Hotel. I traveled with my husband and our two small children. There are many reasons the hotel is as cheap as it is. The advertised air conditioning actually made our room hotter -- the first night it was more than 85 degrees (30 Celsius) in our room.... more

Hotel Csaszar has two advantages: It is cheap and once a day you have free entry to the adjacent Kumjasi swimming pool. Unfortunately, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
