Arrived in the evening of a snowy January Friday to Budapest. As we passed a hilltop, the river valley came into full view, like a Christmas display of lights and snow and amazing buildings like the castle and some major bridges. The hotel, Intercontinental Budapest, was flawless. The location was fantastic, we were just sitting there on the sofa and... more

location here is great on river, supplement for river view. prices expensive for budapest, restaurant is without atmosphere - big hotel hall room with some white tables in it. food good though, but menu a bit bizarre - i tried the dim sum (dim sum !!) without really high hopes, and was rewarded as i expected. soliciting girls in bar... more

We had the pleasure of spending 4 nights at the Intercontinental and highly recommend it! Fabulous view of the Danube and Chain Bridge, perfect location for exploring both Pest and Buda on foot (you can walk to everything!), beautiful rooms and impeccable service! I normally don't stay at hotel chains preferring smaller more boutique hotels with local atmosphere, but the... more

We arrived on a Tuesday around 2 pm by taxi from the Keleti Pu train station ( 10 minutes away ) . The lobby was filled with people and after 10 minutes waiting we could finally check-in . The check-in went very smoothly and after 2 minutes we could go to our Executive Room on the 9th floor with a... more

We booked our trip a few months ahead and found some travel companies and the Hungarian Tourist site offer off-season discounts and promotions. The intercon was not the cheapest however with 3 nights for the price of two, worked out the best value, and was so highly recommended in reviews here. The guide books all tell you the three ways... more

We've had a fantastic stay just before Christmas in the Intercontinental in Budapest. What attracted us to the place was mainly it's location because it is so close to all the attractions. The hotel itself is pretty generic to look at but we upgraded to a room with a spectacular, panoramic view of the Chain Bridge. What makes this hotel... more

Dear Joannasinbox: On behalf of our entire team at InterContinental Budapest, please allow me to thank you for your kind comment. We enjoy reading all kinds of reviews about our new rooms, views from our hotel, facilities etc. However, the most rewarding ones are the ones referrinig to the positive service attitude of our staff members. Thank you for recognizing...

My daughter and I have just returned from a 4 days break. We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is centually situated and extremely close to shops, public transport and many main sightlseeing attractions. Customer service was first class and started even before we left home. Friendly and prompt communication from Mr. Milos was reassuring and helpful. Our room view... more

We have chosen Budapest Intercontinental Hotel firstly because of its exquisite view over the river Danube and the Royal Palace on the Buda side. But also, because it's been recently renovated in an almost Viennese manner of the second half of the 19th C. The rooms are both modern and stilish, easy to use and with regular, fast and efficient... more

What more can you say about a hotel where everything they say in their promotional material is actually true. Brilliant. From the minute we arrived, without one of our bags and 6 hours late owing to blizzards accross Europe, nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff. Toiletries, razor, comb, toothbrush, even an offer to go shopping for... more

This is a great hotel. Stay on the Danube side so you have a memorable view at night. It's spectacular. The people are friendly and helpful. The room is comfortable. The food is expensive and not wonderful, but right now Europe is expensive. more
