I had heard about the hotel through word of mouth. It's a 14th century castle that was converted to a hotel about 10 years ago. It is on a lake in a forested section of land about 20 kM South of Slawno (Schlawe). The town that it's located in, Krag maybe has 100 people at best. It's a wonderful quiet location out in the woods.
I am an American and speak German and some Polish. The staff was very friendly and the default house language was German. The hotel is undergoing some upgrading and restoration on the outside.
The breakfast in the morning was great. I did eat a few meals there, and the food was excellent. There is a small beer garden/patio behind the hotel next to the lake. It's an excellent place to have a few pints of Brok draft beer overlooking the lake.
The rooms were fine - better than many places I have stayed in Western Europe.
I would reccomend the Podewils Krag and look forward to staying there again.
