Why? Read carefully.
Charged 2800 CZK for our family with 2 kids in one of the two big suites that is presented as the top of what this place offers...not true.

Such a gorgeous little town right on the river. So the Pension U Matesa's location is pretty much second to none. Unfortunately, this is where the positives end. The rooms/suites are certainly not well cleaned which I can overlook if it's just dusty but when the fridge is really dirty and you're paying over 80 euros a night it's not...

Right across the river from the old town, lovely location, away from all the day time tourists, only 2 minute walk to the old town and 5 minutes to the castle. Not all the staff speak English, so learn a few words in Czech before arrival:) Suite room is spacious and clean.
We made our booking for this hotel over the expedia website(Canada), weeks in advance, received our confirmation but on our arrival we learned that our room had been given to someone else and that we apparently did not have a reservation - despite the fact that we had a confirmation from Expedia.
The pension does not really have a reception...
