We stayed at this pub in April and decided to book a night there at the end of May because I had inadvertently booked the train back from France on Bank Holiday Monday. We arrived after a fairly stressful journey to find a very noisy party going on, children running about in the bar as well as in the garden... More

Nice lively pub, recently modernised, full of locals of all ages with good food (NOT SUNDAY EVENINGS) and drink. Nice rooms off to the side, modern with all mod cons. Good value and set in a lovely village

A good, friendly local pub with good ales and welcoming staff. The rooms are decorated to a high standard and are warm and comfortable. After 3 days walking from London it was a welcome break to have a bed for the night and a hot shower with clean, fluffy towels.

We had a lovely two night break. The rooms were small but nice. Breakfast was excellent on both mornings. Only criticism we would have was the room could have a full length mirror and the mirror at the dressing table could be better placed and have a light.

Having to attend a funeral at the nearby crematorium, I arrived the day before as we were in the middle of the heavy snow period and I did not want to suffer train problems on the day. The refurbished room was an absolute delight and was one of the most amazing small tastefully furnished rooms I have stayed in. Excellent... More

Myself and some friends were invited to a birthday party at The Oak yesterday (Saturday 8th June). The rear terrace had been specially sectioned off and additional furniture had been moved out of the building into the terrace. This meant we had plenty of seating for our mixed age group. A great start there. Then the food came out! Plenty... More

I am not quite sure if we and the reviewer before went to the same place. We stayed 2 nights with our dog and we were placed in a quiet room with direct access to the garden which was perfect. I am very picky about cleanliness and I could not find anything to pick on. The pub is in a... More

Bought this deal with KGB. Booked in for 2 nights B and B. The business had changed ownership only the day before. Unfortunately new proprietors haven't a clue. With the chef having the night off I opted for the Grilled Rib Eye Medium Rare. The New Landlady opted to fry the steak, over cook the steak and season with a... More

We have just got home after staying a couple of nights here. The room was very clean and comfortable (probably one of the cleanest hotel rooms we have ever stayed in). The owner is very friendly and helpful and she really cares that everything is right for her guests and customers. The breakfasts are cooked to order. You have exactly... More

How often does the owner of a small inn offer you another helping of breakfast (by the way beautifully cooked with local produce) because she's worried you still look hungry. Or keep bringing freshly ground coffee to help delay the need to go out into the wintry weather. Or invite in a young lady from outside who's waiting for a... More
