You couldn't have a found better place to enjoy your stay in Puerto Rico. Our vacation rentals are located in the heart of Puerto Rico's best surfing coast - Rincon. World class breaks such as Maria's, Domes and the legendary Tres Palmas are all literally in your backyard. No need to drive around and check where it's best - you can just look off your own back balcony.
Desecheo Inn has fabulous ocean views, a lovely pool, deck, BBQ area. The 4 apartments have kitchens, owner and staff of this family run inn, Jenny, Michell and Nick live next door and are very friendly and helpful with recommendations on restaurants, shopping, things to do. The owners also own Desecheo Surf Shop nearby where you can purchase all your beach and surfing needs, arrange for surfboard rentals and surfing lessons!

My wife and I went down for 5 nights and had a great time. The local staff was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the entire island. We stayed in the 'Dolphin' and had a direct view of the surf conditions from our back patio. The apartment was well appointed and the grounds were beautifully landscaped with a location that was centrally located close to several beaches for sunning, surfing, and snorkeling. We fell in love with the laid back, small surf town vibe of Rincon and the fact that you could drive 25 minutes away and get most of the modern conveniences of a town back on the mainland (Walgreens, McDonalds, etc). This is a great place to come and relax. There are several grocery stores in Rincon that have all of the essentials to stock up your kitchen. There is also a gas grill in the common area that is available for guests. The pool was very refreshing. There are several restaurants and bars in the Rincon area that have excellent food. We are already making plans for our return visit!…

Mishell was great w/ reservations/checkin/etc. both over the phone and via quick email responses. Also, the guys in the surf shop (Nick and another guy w/ a thick accent I can't remember his name) were great (extremely friendly and helpful). The property itself was just ok though. Having a small kitchen and a/c were nice, and the shared patio/deck area is pretty nice and has a great view (although whoever said you can just look out from the patio and check the surf was being a little ambitious). The pool was moderately clean but borderline enough to not be worth the swim. There was a mixup w/ our room and the people who had to leave right before we checked in must have had a bunch of food out or something because the room was full of fruit flies when we arrived. Not necessarily the staff's fault, but the problem was no one ever came to take care of it, so we had to get our own fly strips and bug spray and battled w/ the bugs for 4 nights. Also, the shower gives you literally 20 seconds of hot water no matter how long you wait in between showers. Overall, not a bad bargain for the price if you just need a place to sleep w/ in range of all the surf spots (down the hill 1 way to Maria's...down the hill the other way to Dogman's, etc.). Not quite walkable, but a super quick drive. But definitely wouldn't recommend for a honeymoon or anything like that.…

i recently stayed here with my wife, and 2 other couples. you dont even have to go down to the beach to check the waves you can check from lifting your head off of your pillow and looking out the window. rooms are clean and have everything you need. after surfing go to the bakery for pastries and cafe and you can sit on the outdoor tables and chairs above the pool and look for whales, which we say. jenny, mishell, and chikkako at the dive shop were friendly and accomodating. we will be back for sure.

My husband and I stayed at Desecheo Inn during our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. We booked it right through the surf shop of the same name when we got to town. It's up the road a bit, but still within walking distance from the beach, and has a beautiful view. We were there in the off-off season so had the place to ourselves with a wonderful 1 bedroom apartment, amazing pool, deck, and BBQ. The common area is pretty expansive, so I think even if we had shared the space it would have been great. The best part: one of the owners kittens, Lena, came to visit every night. Loved it.

We stayed in the pent house suite for 4 days in April, it was a little difficult to find the house, there is a fluorescent light with the name, but being day time it didn't really stick out. The house was huge, but we had our living room on the 3rd floor and the bedrooms on the 4th floor which typical wouldn't be a problem, but the downstairs apartment is located in the stairwell, so we needed a key to open the living room door and a key to open the bed room doors upstairs. The balcony is where we spent the majority of the time that and the pool. Unfortunately, the owner's son lives next door and came over asking if we wanted a surf lesson, being very persistent! It bordered on harassing. He played his music loudly and constantly came over asking for cigarettes and asking if we wanted surf lessons. It came to a point where I wasn't sure if our things were safe inside the house, because of how desperate he sounded for money. We spent little time at the house and when we go back next year we definitely won't be staying there!…

Response from desecheo_inn, Front Office Manager at Desecheo Inn
Responded 30 Sept 2011
Sorry to hear about the problems you had with the owners son. We have corrected the situation & he will no longer be a problem to the inn. He does not live in Puerto Rico anymore and legally not allowed near the premises. I hope that maybe you would reconsider another stay in the future. Thanks for understanding & bringing the issue to our attention.

My boyfriend & I decided to go away for the weekend, and since I had been to Rincon before I thought it was a good idea. Boy was I wrong! We arrived without problems, and found that the room we got was not as good as the one I had stayed in before (dolphin room) but it was ok. However, as we relaxed on the deck of the Inn taking in the ocean view, we heard a horrible argument between the owner of the Inn (she lives next door) and her teenage son (maybe in his 20s). We were so scared that we hid out in our room, and left immediately to dinner. Thankfully, when we returned from dinner it was quiet, but we felt unsafe at all times. Details of the argument are not family friendly for this site, but let's just say that we did not feel safe staying there. Since we had booked a snorkeling trip to Desecheo island with Taino divers early the next morning, we decided to spend the night because driving at night to find another room in the dark didn't make us feel much safer. We left early the next day, and even though the people that work at Taino divers are really nice, this time around what they served us for lunch was ridiculous: pasta salad with mayo (not safe in the hot sun!) and chips. Last year, we had a nice spread of sandwiches, which after swimming for hours is much better. We don't plan on going back for another snorkeling trip with them when there are much better companies in the east coast of the island like Eastwinds. It didn't turn out to be the romantic weekend we had planned...…

Stayed here for just a night. We had the dolphin apt which turned out to be huge. I was quite surprise when I walked into this place. The view from the apt was awesome. Over looking the water and lighthouse with the sun setting. You couldn't ask for anything more. It's a big surf area. Highly recommend this place.

I wanted to ad my review of the Desecheo Inn. I had stayed there last year and I found it upgraded and nicer than ever. The balcony Ocean, Sunset and Lighhouse views are fabulous. The rates are great expecially for groups. The pool is great. the area mellow and beds are big and great. Don;t forget to sign up or register at the Dive Shop near Marias Beach. I always remember the great Sunsets and the easy surf Check in the mornings. James
