A very pleasant hotel with very welcoming and helpful personnel. Has a lovely calm setting and the bed was very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation. Our room looked out onto a beautiful blossom filled tree.

We loved the chateau de Palaja, located in a tiny at picturesque village outside Carcassonne. The chateau was spotless, nice free parking. The building is beautiful but more like a house not like a castle. The receptionist was lovely and very helpful. I absolutely adored the garden an the swimming pool, so quiet, clean..was marvellous. Our room was nice but... More

only 4-5 minutes drive from la cite is this excellent chateau. large modern rooms within a traditional looking house. very good quality regarding bathrooms, matresses, wooden objects. The outdoors is wonderful. Sitting area under aged trees, big garden, cosy swimming pool, and the beautifull old bridge that leads to the free parking area. The owners are great guys-hosts speaking fluently... More

Very friendly & welcoming, quiet, great service, stylishly furnished & comfortable bedrooms. We stayed in a family suite in the eaves - luxurious as far as the children were concerned and plenty of space for 4. Easy to get to Carcassonne and on to Toulouse. Only downside was the restaurant (next to, but separately managed) which was expensive for what... More

Spent four nights in this beautifully renovated village castle, some 10' drive from the splendid fortified cité de Carcassonne. The rooms have 'personality', the breakfast is complete and can be taken in- as well as outdoors, the lady of the house is very friendly and helpful. A fine restaurant can be found on the premises, a decent pizza and good-priced... More

Having stayed in 'modernised' chateaux before, I didn't have exceptionally high hopes for Chateau Palaja, but it was lovely. The rooms and public areas are immaculate, the renovations have been done very tastefully, and Mme Remy the owner is friendly and efficient. Breakfast is continental only, but everything is fresh and tasty. The pool area is nice, although the steps... More

I had heard about this new restaurant "S comme" in the grounds of Chateau de Palaja and wasn't disappointed. Lovely decor, good friendly service, and wonderful food. Run by two Belgian brothers, a great addition to dining options for anyone looking for a special evening out in Carcassonne.

We stayed for three days of our week in the Languedoc, and eventually came back for three more days! Great place, beautifully kept, the Maitre d is a charming and very helpful lady. All her tips and advice on attractions and good restaraunts came up trumps. Lac de Cavayere and the town of Carcasonne (le Cité, the Midi Canal, etc)... More

This hotel was a delightful choice for us - fabulous rooms and sumptious breakfast! The owner was a lovely lady who did everything possible to ensure our stay was a pleasant one, which it most definitely was! Our room was spacious and extremely comfortable, furnished to a very high standard. Probably slightly more expensive than we would usually choose, but... More

A beautifully restored historic chateau. The couple who have renovated it are welcoming and delightful. Indeed, madame seems to have sunshine in her voice, and both of them are utterly charming. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The accommodation is first class: the rooms are large (we were a family of 3 adults and were in Frontfroide), the beds... More
