The buffet breakfast was quite a letdown (first time we've had it at this Rydges). Myself and two young sons stayed, room placement was very awkward when it was just me lugging all of the bags. Paint coming off tiles in bathroom. Otherwise it's a clean room for an overnight stay. More

The worst place I have ever stayed, reception was ok, but when we got to the rooms they were very average, below average in fact, the air conditioning didn't work, the room was musty, would never stay there gain, they are trading on the rydges name bu certainly dont live up to th standard you would expect. Complained to he... More

Dear Ron C, thank you for taking the time to post your review on trip advisor, I was disappointed and surprised that you were given the perception that we were uncaring, when reporting your concerns about the air conditioning unit. We certainly should have assisted; they can be a little tricky at times. I apologise that my team did not... More

Stayed at Rydges Eagle Hawk for 2 nights last weekend. Check in was quick and easy with no forms to complete and no handing over of credit cards (since I had already checked in via the web). All was well until I discovered some red stains on the blanket in my room. They looked like blood stains. I complained immediately... More

Stayed one night and that was enough! After finding my room, opened the door to a musty aroma coming from my room, opened the window for a couple of hours to no avail, so just had to put up with that. Advertised mini bar, but where? Very basic tea/coffee with no biscuits. The bathroom was in need of a good... More

Dear cheekygimp, thank you for taking the time to post your comments on trip advisor, however I was disappointed to read you had not enjoyed your stay. Damp smells are certainly not pleasant, and this has clearly effected the enjoyment of your stay, they are however something we can fix and I apologise you were subjected to this. Again I... More

My family and I loved this place. It is perfectly located for an overnight stopover, or for a few days exploring Canberra. Being only 10-15minutes from Canberra it was great. It had a very 'school camp' feel about it, but not in a negative way. We felt really comfortable here and the kids loved the pool and open space. More

Pleasant and efficient checkin. Finding our room was not easy - the site could do well to have some permanent signage giving directions to rooms and amenities. More

My wife and I stayed there for one night while in Canberra for business....we checked in late due to a long drive from midcoast. The ;welcome' was non existent, felt as though we interrupted the very rude night managers tv schedule... We then received our vague and abrupt directions to a worn out looking room. Seemed clean although the TV... More

We have used Rydges group many times, but their hotel at Eaglehawk is really in need of an overhaul. The beds are great but overshadowed by old analogue tv, broken fittings including the security chain lying on floor, peeling paintwork, and a general air of neglect around the gardens etc. Given that it's so far out of town, I think... We visited Canberra for a national conference, staying inner city during the conference. Having not been to Canberra in 30 yrs decided to have 5 days being tourists and booked 4 nights via internet hoping to be far enough away from city to relax, but close enough to travel in given we hired a car. Also a factor in choosing... More
