This motel bears almost no resemblance to its description in Lonely Planet. We found it so depressing that we cancelled our second night's booking and moved after one night. The room we stayed in was on the back of the building with no balcony (our choice) and was only accessible from a tall outdoor staircase which was not sheltered. It rained the day we arrived and the stairs were slippery and nerve-wracking, especially when carrying our bags.

Aside from newer-looking carpet, our room looked like it hadn't been renovated in decades. The bedroom had uneven walls with cracking seams, battered dorm-room furniture, peeling plastic coating on the windows and a TV with a handwritten note taped to it saying, "Regret no remote control". The "decor" if you can call it that is ugly and worn.

The bathroom featured tiling from the Seventies, a shower fixture so ancient I've never seen one like it before, and plenty of scuffed and scratched surfaces. The... more
