Stayed here during the Music Festival, great views of the ocean, relatively expensive but we expect that during the Music Festival. 5-10 min walk to the main street. Room was nice, clean, and good condition. Nothing overly fancy but did the job. Very nice hearing the sounds of the ocean at night time.

Stayed for 2 nights over Easter weekend at a vastly inflated rate (only place with any rooms available). Great view but not much else to recommend, room was tired, damp & musty. Ridiculous charge for wi-fi so used free wi-fi at cafe in Apollo Bay instead. Aviod unless like us, you have no choice.

This was a great stopover for one night, positives were excellent views(we were on the top floor), balcony, easy parking, clean, friendly manager. Upstairs room (extra cost) definitely had great views of ocean! Room ok, but tired and in need of maintenance (tear in carpet, bare wires coming out of wall, dirty seal around sink) but otherwise clean. Decor and furnishing in need of modernisation. I stayed here this weekend, out travelling the Great Ocean Road. Chose on basis of reviews here and the fact it is supposed to be 4 Star. A great place to stop off. The view from the terrace is great and Apollo bay shops and restaurants are around the corner. Rooms could do with upgrading but are perfectly comfortable.

Enjoyable, comfortable stay. Owners friendly. Good location for price!

A Great Ocean View is a popular stopover for people exploring the Great Ocean Route. The main attraction is the wonderful view of the coast, otherwise this is a fairly basic motel. The rooms are spacious and fine for a night or two.
