We had a room in the old part one fight upstairs. The room was simple, but all was functional and clean, except the windows. Staff was helpful and friendly. Nice tips on the area. You can't beat the location from the beach and the penguin tour. You won't be staying here a long time, especially off season, but if it's... More

We are pleased that you seemed to have enjoyed your stay on Kangaroo Island and mostly in our hotel. Yes, we do have two distinctly different buildings that make up our hotel. The original hotel section built in 1920 and was most recently renovated in 2005 (more renovations soon). We think this part of our hotel is, as you have... More

We booked the hotel room, they were really nice to free upgraded us to a seaview room. However the room in general is ok, nothing fancy about it. Actually water tastes bit strange. I guess the reality is it's kangaroo Island, what else you can expect :)

We are pleased you appreciated your upgrade. In regard to Kangaroo Island drinking water: the water is sourced from Western River and does contain some minerals that may taste different to what travelers are used to. Although it does taste different it is verified by continuous inspection to be of good condition and suitable for drinking purposes. More

Stayed two nights. originally booked a cheaper room in the old part of the hotel, but asked for an upgrade (just fancied a larger room with two armchairs instead of the one in the cheaper room). Ended up with a kingsize bed that was wonderful, but no armchairs! Pluses were the clean room, balcony view of the ocean and wonderful... More

We are pleased that our room's cleanlinesss and the comfort of our king size bed was a positive experience for you. Sorry about your not liking the in room coffee. Next time you visit please be aware that barista brewed coffee in a variety of styles is available from room service. The reception centre in the modern section of the... More

We had booked a King Seaview Room, This was situated in the new wing across the road which has lift access to all floors. There is free parking. The room was large with a king bed and single bed, table and chairs, desk and luggage nook. Clean and well presented. There was air conditioning, fridge, safe and wardrobe, Bedspreads on... More

Great position, staff friendly, very roomy apartment, pity dishwasher and bathroom fan had to be repaired during our stay. Stained carpets are not a good look considering the cost of the apartment. Restaurant service and food good.

I was so impressed with this (older) hotel - landed up extending my stay. Rooms were spacious, well decorated with a few extra bells and whistles - for under $100!! Excellent food in the restaurant and it couldn't be better positioned in Kingscote. Will definitely return ...

The staff is very friendly, they upgraded us for our honey moon in an amazing appartment with a great view and we spent 3 nights there. We enjoyed the restaurant, which is the one that closes the latest on KI, you have to know it. Everywhere else is closed very early. If we come back in Australia on KI, we... More

Beautiful views and very comfortable room with a king bed and balcony. It's a pity that this lovely hotel does not provide individual toiletries, soap, shampoo, conditioner etc but rather they supply those in bulk dispensers in the bath/ shower and hand basin. And why do some hotels not supply shower caps? Dinner at the restaurant is very nice but... More

A lovely location but spoilt by the dark room we were checked into. Warning in the internal bathroom to keep extractor fan on when using the shower to avoid setting off the fire alarm was not that appealing.! Friendly staff ( although Reception was a little lifeless) and reasonable buffet breakfast. Good facilities ie . pool and laundry room.
