My husband and I along with another couple stayed four nights at the Abbey of the Roses last week and we had the most wonderful time. The Abbey is being lovingly refurbished and restored by its new owners with the help of Bazil the cat. The building is heritage listed and has some beautiful furnishings and antiques. Our hosts were... More

Thankyou Sonia and Mark and Bazil the cat, for a lovely stay. We first discovered this treasure when a friend had her wedding there. We all stayed in the Abbey. I told my mates about it and we all went back recently and stayed when we went to the Opera in the Vineyard in Stanthorpe. Sonia and Mark are so... More

I recently stayed for two nights at the Abbey of the Roses while touring the area for culinary and travel experiences. Prior to my arrival, I had received from Sonia, the owner, plenty of recommendations on what to visit in the Southern Downs and Granite Belt. It was a great start for a trip which I undertook at a moment’s... More

Thank you for your kind words Maria, you must travel a lot with your job so it was fantastic to read your comments and it is always wonderful to have guests stay who love the history and beauty of the Abbey as we do. Mark was thrilled about your comment on his breakfast you made his week! Enjoy the rest... More

We recently stayed at the Abbey whilst exploring the local countryside including attending Stanthorpe's Grape & Wine Festival. Not only is the Abbey in Warwick a great base from which to explore the local countryside it is also a great adventure in itself. A beautiful sandstone building with restored interior it's glistening timber stairs, fittings and panels. it's lofty ceilings... More

Thank you DeeQld for your comments. Sounds like you picked up on the tranquil vibe of the Abbey and that Warwick has a lot to offer people looking for some great architecture and historic sandstone buildings. More

A group of friends stayed here in February to attend a function in Warwick. The hosts were great and happy to show off the great work they have done bringing the Abbey back to its full glory. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. The attic lounge made a great place to gather for an informal drink. Breakfast was great and the... More

I read with interest the reviews on Abbey of the Roses but I respectfully suggest as the ownership has changed some of the reviews are "ancient" and have become irrelevant. One must understand it was an Abbey, a most impressive building and grounds (and heritage listed), and there are some very minor limitations to do with the age of building... More

Hi David, thank you for the lovely comments regarding your visit and views on the Abbey. Basil is a character all of his own and we have wondered if he is in fact one of the Sisters of Mercy Nuns come back to keep an eye on the place - he still likes to greet everyone and walks most people... More

My husband and I recently stayed at this B & B (Feb 2012) and we had a wonderful time. Sonia and Mark are exceptional hosts - very friendly and very accomodating, as well as being very professional - quite a rare find. They have taken over the Abbey recently and the bad review posted in 2008 was not while they... More

Hi DeeWee thank you for taking the time to send in your review on the Abbey. We where so pleased to read your comments and that we have made your visit enjoyable and memorable. Mark was chuffed to hear what you said about his breakfast - the kitchen is his domain and he loves pottering in there. Thanks again and... More

I recently surprised my husband with a stay at the Abbey of the Roses B&B at Warwick for his birthday. The Abbey is a lovely old converted convent and looks fantastic on their web site. We also went up to go to a country show at Allora a small country town nearby which was great as usual. It wasn't a... More

Hi, I am sorry to hear you weren't happy when you visited over three years ago and that no one had replied to your comments. We have just found this comment and wanted to reply even though we weren't here when you stayed. We purchased the Abbey last year and have given the 'faded rose' a 12 month face lift.... More
