The hotel gets a lot of coach trade visitors who may lack certain social graces. However, the Lillianfels is a very genteel establishment. The decor is understated, yet elegant. We found all staff to be extremely polite and friendly. Everything was perfect from our arrival to our departure. Our room was clean and tidy and it was the extra touches that we loved. From the moment we arrived we were treated as VIPS, which is quite refreshing for the Blue Mountains, as opposed to some other establishments and cafes in this area whose staff can be quite rude reflecting the manners of Basil Fawlty.
