My wife and I stayed for 6 days a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful time in Palm Cove and the Reef House. Yes, there were a few crumbly bits of plaster. The pool wasn't always immaculate, and our room was probably due an imminent refurb. On the other hand, the room and communal areas were very comfortable,... More

Had four days to indulge in some rest and adventure. Spontaneously chose this accomodation on a flifht to Cairns deal and was totally and happily surprised. This resort/hotel goes the extra mile. I was met at the desk and given a brief tour of the hotel. Staff noted both pools and free library. Behind the library is a bar where... More

We were lucky enough to get a special deal of $129 per night (inc continental breakfast). At this rate it was exceptional value. Boutique hotel with a “Raffles” feel. Staff all friendly and helpful. Two beautiful pools and right in the heart of Palm Cove. I note an earlier review commented that the hotel was looking a little tied in... More

Wonderful to read you had a great stay with us in Palm Cove. Thank you for acknowledging the staff whom as a management team we continue to train and develop. I agree our freshwater and saltwater pools are beautiful and our beachfront location in the heart of the village is simply the best. Thank you. Yours sincerely Kellie More

I enjoyed a quiet, peaceful and relaxing long weekend here. My verandah room was spacious - large bathroom, comfortable large bedroom and best of all was the huge balcony with deckchairs and table overlooking the pool and well-kept gardens. As some other reviewers have mentioned, some parts of the resort are looking a bit tired and could do with a... More

Thank you for your comments following your recent long weekend with us. Our verandah rooms are very popular for the reasons you mention, particularly the balcony, a great way to enjoy the Tropical North Queensland climate. Thank you for mentioning our well-kept gardens, these have been a continued focus over the past 12 months as has the refresh and revitalisation... More

After having read many reviews on this site indicating that this resort had slipped, I phoned reservations at the Reef House for reassurance that the resort was still up to standard. I regret taking their word for this ("always a few unhappy people") and should have cancelled the booking. Let me be clear, this was my fourth visit to this... More

We stayed there in March this year and other than the state of the hotel and possibly the food, it could have been 5 star. The location was perfect, almost beeing on a wonderful streach of palm fringed clean beach. The weather was equally 5 star. The rooms were high quality beeing rustic clapper white, with the outside beeing white... More

My wife and I spent four nights in March 2012. I'm still a little unsure how to rate this hotel because it had a real different feel to what I'm used to. And note that I was pretty worried about our booking after reading many of the reviews on here. I'll start with the staff. Despite the fact that I... More

My husband and I stayed here for 1 week in October 2011. We stayed in a Brigadier Room. After reading some of the reviews before our trip, I was worried that we would find the Reef House too 'run-down'.
