Fantastic French food for a special occassion but prices really steep (i.e., count on $100 per person with wine). Well worth it for a birthday dinner while staying nearby.

We stayed there for my father in laws 70th birthday and made and excellent choice.
We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet well run small hotel, if the whole experience might be a bit French at times (when we arrived there was a note to call the owner for check-in :O)

llWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet well run small hotel. "This is a relaxed and quiet place for uncomplicated people." - sums it up really. For us been able to open our bedroom windows and hear the sound of the sea is real luxury.

I spent a week in January in hotel Atlantis and had a great time!
I recommend the small plane trip to get there: its both fun and fast! Dont be scared by the last kilometer of bad road to reach Playa bonita; at least it makes it a bit more "secret" and much more quiet thant any of Las Terrannas...

The atlantis hotel is excellent located by playa bonita beach. They have a great seating area with long chairs by the beach at no extra cost. The restaurant there serves really good international and local food. However, the prices are a bit higher than in other hotels in the area eventhough they offer the same facilities and services.

The hotel Atlantis is a great romantic spot but it is also good for the whole family. It is right by the beach of playa bonita. The hotel has its own restaurant and the chef is french, so expect to be getting the most delicious food ever. The price is a bit higher than other hotels but it is totally...

I will try to give a detailed and accurate description of all aspects...

This is a relaxed and quiet place for uncomplicated people. Good for kids and people who do not need delux chichi but like a nice surrounding and good food.
If you're looking for firstclass service, desinfected toilets and VIP atmosphere, this is NOT your place!
We've been there about 10 days in Feb. 2010 and enjoyd a good time.

This hotel is isolated. It is reached by, usually, some sort of DR bus ride, and after that by sitting on the back of a motorcycle "taxi". Don't bring much luggage. The other way is for the hotel to arrange a $30 cab ride the few short kilometers from Las Terenas.
So, this hotel is isolated. If you want to...

This location on Playa Bonita was the absolute best I encountered in the Dominican Republic. You are only a few steps from Playa Coson, which is absoutely mind-blowing.
While the overall setting and food were excellent, we did find the rooms to be a bit spartan. The simple addition of shower curtains, an additional mirror in the room, and an...
