We flew into Darwin late at night after 2 weeks in New Zealand. We were on a quest to see wallabies, dingoes and crocs. As soon as we were on the road to the lodge, which is an easy 2 hour drive, we saw both wallabies and dingoes as well as giant termite mounds. The road is fast and you... More

We had a bad start at check in, with a mix up in the reservation and confusion over rooms, but once over that enjoyed our stay here. The accommodation is basic but clean and the resort has a nice laid back atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. The kids really enjoyed the pool with the waterfall and the park. Food... More

We spent 2 nights at Gagudju Lodge Cooinda with 2 other couples. Had a lovely time while we were there. Drove from Darwin airport and were pleased to arrive before dark. Easy drive from the airport. Staff at checkin were great. Helpful with answers to our questions. They put the 3 couples together in one block of rooms, so it... More

A very comfortable and central place to stay in the park. Convenient for early morning sunrise cruise and fishing. A little dated but we are in the outback. If you don't like insects and small frogs in your room don't go there; but honestly there must be other things to worry about. This is part of the resorts charm. Where... More

Was disappointed in this place. For the price, $176.00 per night, we had a lodge room and I was expecting something special seeing as it was the most expensive accommodation by far on our three week trip to the Top End. It was really only a very standard motel room. Having said that, it was clean and comfortable, set in... More

Stayed a night as part of a 2-day tour from Darwin to Kakadu. The lodge has a great location but the rooms were shabby and full of insects. With more effort the management could provide a fantastic experience for visitors. The restaurant was closed so we had to eat in the bar, populated by small biting creatures, hence dinner was... We stayed in a lodge room and it was without a doubt the worst place we stayed in during a five week trip to Australia. The rooms are decrepit, and frankly, the owners and managers of this lodge should be ashamed to offer such poor lodging to the thousands of visitors who come to visit this beautiful and important World... We arrived without a booking to the Gagudju Lodge Cooinda to be greeted by lovely friendly staff who were nothing but accommodating. We were 3 families (2 caravans, 1 tent) and loved the fact that we could chose our own campsites together. The camping area was beautifully lush and green with plenty of shade. The amenities were clean and well... More

Thank you for taking the time to review Gagudju Lodge Cooinda! I am so pleased to hear you were happy with the level of service provided by our staff, from your initial welcome, all throughout your stay. Our campground is certainly green at this time of year, a result of a late rainy season, and a perfect place to relax... More

We stayed here for one night in the 'Outback Lodge' accommodation. For paying around $100 we were expecting a little more than basically a glorified shipping container with a bed. I understand this is a remote location and the lodge is a caravan park but we were expecting a bit more. We got in just around sunset and were already... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Our "Outback" accommodation is certainly our more basic option, and for those travelling to Kakadu and only looking for a place to stay the night, it is a great option for them. We do have our Lodge Accommodation as an alternative for those who are looking for the extra luxuries,... More

Agree with others that the rooms are highly priced, even in off season. Having said that, room was very comfortable and very clean. Bring some simple snacks and wine/beer, you are in a remote location and food is priced accordingly, even in Jabiru. Not sure i would recommend Kakadu in wet season, a lot of roads closed due to flood... More
