Our family occupied the 3rd floor suite and the Haulashore apartment for 2 nights and unfortunately too little time in the days, as we were busy exploring Abel Tasman by kayak. Richard was a wonderfuly helpful host & served delicious breakfasts on our rather early schedule. The property has lovely views, and has been restored to retain the character of... More

We had a great experience staying at Te Puna Wai Lodge over New Year 2012. Stayed in the Haulashore apartment with great views and a really well appointed kitchen. The location was very good; only a short drive to the City and a pleasant walk to some really nice restaurants on the water. The lodge has a lot of character... More

Te Puna Wai is a wonderful restored and decorated older home - great character, views and rooms. A booklovers paradise as well. We were in the Haulashore suite which is definitely worth the splurge. More

Te Puna Wai was one of two "splurge" accommodations on our month-long vacation. We loved it and considered it very good value. We used it as a base for visiting the Marlborough wine region to the east, the scenic coast to the west, and Nelson itself. We were treated to the upper floor with a huge room and over-the-top bathroom... More

Staying at Te Puna Wai is a fabulous experience, and totally made my stay in Nelson. I stayed for 4 nights when in Nelson for my friends' wedding and didn't want to leave! The house has been beautifully restored and decorated to a very high standard, with everything you could need (really comfy bed, hairdryer, free wifi, CDs, guidebooks, maps... More

Te Puna Wai is a gorgeous home in the hills overlooking Tasman Bay; We spent four nights in the Haulashores apartment; lovely furnishings and french doors opening on to a patio overlooking the bay; beautiful gardens surround the patio and the grounds of the house. The kitchen is brand new and fully equipped , including a washer /dryer;and stocked with... More

We were due to stay 3 nights and ended up staying 6. Everything about Te Puna Wai is perfect. We woke up every morning with a view of the ocean from our bed and couldn't bear to move as it was so comfortable and the bed linen so lovely. Breakfast was excellent and both Richard and James extended their hospitality... More

My wife and I stayed with James and Richard and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The house is immaculate and filled with all sorts of interesting bits and pieces; our room on the top floor had a spectacular view of the bay - and the bathroom - I think James and Richard must specialize in bathroom design - it was great.... We stayed at this B&B for two nights - staying on top (attic) floor. The views were spectacular over the bay. The two connecting rooms were very comfortable for our family of three and lovingly decorated. Marble bathroom (soaking tub and separate shower) has to be the most delightful of our 2 weeks in New Zealand! Hosts are friendly and... More
