Very clean, comfy and the price was right. Spa bath in our unit. The caretakers working (covering for the owners) were lovely and very helpful. Would recommend - although it is on the main street, it is quite quiet in the rooms at the back (we were in room 18).

Very nice hotel with helpful staff. We just walked in to this one with no real plans. Staff was very helpful and gave us a choice of rooms. Each was very clean modern, and the price was right. Had we more time, we would have extended our stay in Oamaru. Great little town with very friendly people.

Had a very pleasant 2 night stay here. Highfield ticks all the boxes for this type of accommodation - clean, functional, free WiFi, modern tasteful furnishings. I really wish all motels in this price point were up to this standard. Only minor suggestion would be that the shower over the bath situation is not ideal for older or mobility impaired... More

Stayed at Highfield 1 night when passing through Oamaru. (Drove from Christchurch, to Lake Tekapo, to Lake Pukaki then overnighted in Oamaru). Did not have a reservation, but a couple of rooms were available. New, clean facility. Laundry in separate area outside of room. Comfy bed and accommodation. Friendly staff and check-in.

What a positive influence it has to have a great host. The accommodation is perfect, good value for money and every tip from the owner is gold.
