This was the first place we stayed once we picked up our Wicked Camper van and headed out of Christchurch. Being my first experience at an Australian campground site, I thought it was excellent. It was very clean, quiet, and the staff and our neighbors were very friendly. We got a non-powered site for like $40 NZ dollars, pretty good... More

WoW We stayed here at very short notice, 15 minutes warning and yet the staff were willing to put us in a deluxe cabin, amazing and very friendly staff (i would like to put a special thank you to Calta, very friendly and helpful) and also the rest of the team for making us feel so welcome clean, tidy, comfortable,... We traveled in early January 2012 with two adults and two children. We booked a cabin with a double and a set of bunks. , the cabin had really nice outside sitting area, was spacey inside with a tv, which we didn't use. The beds were a little on the hard side. As other people have already mentioned the trains... More

We went to many of the Top Ten and this was a little smaller than others with not the top quality kitchens but it suited our needs for the location as we were there only one night passing through. Adequate. More

We stayed in a very clean large double ensuite with shower, good room facilities but was spoiled by the noise from the road and railway. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Expensive wifi available from reception. More

Hi di73, Thanks for your review. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay in our spacious and clean accommodation. We have minimised the road and rail noise through extensive boundary hedging, unfortunately a few of our guests still notice it, most agree though, a little noise is worth the compromise of our excellent location. We camped for one night. As many other reviewers have said, the staff are friendly and go out their way to help. As at least one other reviewer said, it seems as if they are out to maximise profit by cramming in as many people as possible. It was very crowded and you are not more than two metres at... More

Hi travelmore, We are sorry to hear you were disapointed with your stay at our park. I would like to clarify that our park management does not set out to overcrowd in order to maximise profit. Please be aware that January is by far Kaikoura's busiest month. Often travellers are unaware of this, and many visitors arrive without a booking.... More

Awesome for families, i stayed 1 night with my children before my hubby arrived and felt so safe. Lovely and clean. Nice pool and spa and playground. Friendly, helpfull staff, had movie nights in the weekends for the children. On the expensive side (compared to other south island top 10 parks) but worth it. Cant wait to visit again! More

We stayed here for 2 nights in one of the ensuite units. The holiday park is sandwiched between the main road and the railway line and is about a 5-10 minute walk from the shops. Our unit backed on to the busy main road which made sleep very difficult - I had to go out and buy ear plugs after... More

Kaikoura Top 10 Holiday Park, as most Top 10 parks, is not cheap but gives you clean and nice facilities for a powered site Campervan night parking. Kaikoura Top 10 facilities advantages are nice clean unisex shower rooms and a free spa that we used in our nights there. The biggest disadvantage is the rail nearby that means seldom train... More
