Rimu Lodge was the second stop on the South Island during our trip around New Zealand. It is a beautiful house, in a great location. We stayed for four nights in the Korimako Room, which was absolutely lovely - could not have wished for anything better. Helen and Peter were great hosts. Peter was kind enough to let Bernie use... My husband and I returned to the Rimu Lodge, and, again, we were thrilled! The Lodge is as beautiful as ever with a gorgeously appointed room overlooking breathtaking New Zealand scenery. Helen and Peter Walls are wonderful hosts. We overlapped the Wild Foods Festival in Hokitika, and being above town was wonderful. The lodge is a true gem in every... More

We stayed here for 1 night and had a lovely time. Bedrooms where great and had beautiful views. we stayed in the second floor rooms but I think the bottom floor rooms would have just as nice a view. We bought food in hokitika and ate out on the balcony, enjoying the surroundings. Breakfast was nice and the host Helen... More

The west coast of the South Island is a magical place, and there is no better place to explore it from than Rimu Lodge. Situated just outside the town of Hokitika, this location feels far away and splendidly isolated and yet is easily accessible. We watched the sun rise from our room before a sumptuous breakfast overlooking a beautiful river... More

Rimu Lodge is in a wonderful setting overlooking the river valley and only a few minutes drive to some great restaurants in Hokitika. We stayed in a room on the ground floor, with a great terrace. Helen was really welcoming and organised a reservation for dinner and then whipped up an amazing breakfast. WE really enjoyed our nights stay, perfect... More

We only stayed at Rimu Lodge for 1 night enroute from Wanaka to Abel Tasman, but wished we could have spent longer there. We stayed on the ground floor room with a large balcony outside to relax and enjoy the wonderful view. The standard of our room excellent and the room and lodge are spotless. Helen, the host, was extremely... More

It's really hard writing this review as there is a lot to recommend staying at Rimu Lodge, but for me, Helen the host spoilt our stay. The views from the bedrooms (the upper bedroom views are the best) and the standard of the room were excellent. However, for me it takes more than fluffy towels and a sparkling bathroom to... More

We stayed for 3 nights at the the Rimu lodge. We stayed in Nov 2011 and just missed the deadline for our review but we enjoyed the experience so much we really wanted to post one for the Rimu lodge. The room was great, very clean and comfortable with an amazing view. From the moment we pulled into the drive... More

Unfortunately we only stayed here for one night. The room was excellent and the breakfast room/guest lounge was fabulous. The breakfast was also excellent for choice and quality. This B&B accommodation, breakfast and service certainly lives up to its high ranking on Trip Advisor. We would recommend Rimu Lodge to anyone on a touring holiday of South Island. Not a... More
