Its worth the 8kms off the main road Of Hokitika to stay at Rimu Lodge. The house is beautifully designed to make the most of the magnificent view over the rimu bush to the river valley. The rooms are very comfortable and guests have a lovely spacious lounge with wonderful fire to relax and listen to music - quite a... More

Rimu lodge is a short drive from Hokitika but worth it. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms with a beautiful view across the valley to the mountains beyond. Had very convivial happy hour with the owners and other guests. The owners are very friendly and personable. Great breakfast as well. They recommended that we take a side drive... More

We have stayed in a few places on the West Coast but Rimu Lodge is most definately THE place to stay! Helen was the perfect host from the moment we arrived and she and John gave us lots of local information when they invited us for drinks in the Great Lounge before we went out to dinner - booked for... Rimu lodge is up market! The facilities for my disabled husband were fantastic although a safer shower stool is needed. The location of the b&b was good -easy to find. The views were stunning. Facilities second to none especially the deck and the lounge. Helen how about a hot tub??? The breakfast was excellent. The toiletries were top rate. The... More

We stayed 2 nights at Rimu Lodge. We were welcomed by Disa (the dog) and Helen and taken through the 'Great Room' up to our room which was beautifully decorated and had the most amazing views. Helen was very helpful in getting us restaurant bookings and also sorting out our flight up to Mount Cook the following morning. We had... More

We stayed for three nights at Rimu lodge. This was one of my favourite places in New Zealand. The rooms were incredibly comfortable and the outside deck a great place to sit and read. After driving around the South Island it was great to take some time to recharge the batteries and Helen and Peter made us feel very much... More

We stayed one night at Rimu Lodge when visiting for the Rugby World and found it to be a warm and friendly place to stay. We were hosted by Helen, who was friendly and very helpful on the small town of Hokitika. She was ably assisted by Disa, the beautiful spaniel, who greet us when we arrived and was always... More

A little far away from Hokitika you Will find this modern and attractive lodge facing mountains - not the big ones. Rooms are impeccable, views on the countryside from them with no buildings as far as one can see. The prize is for the lounge very confortable wih the same views. Breakfast there is a treat thanks to quality of... More
