The place is in a ok location, just out of town but on the highway. Views of the beach but you can not hear over the highway. I heard cars all night. Birdsong is one of the New Zealand backpackers which is true to the culture of colourful, cheerful, convenient backpackers. Once again, staying true to the theme - the place has the bird imagery appearing everywhere from signage to the salt and pepper shakers on each table. Very clean and comfortable, birdsong has everything a backpacker would desire.
