A real find during a touring holiday. Room was good and well equipped with mini kitchen. The real find however was the restaurant. Pleasant bar staff for pre-dinner drink. Great choices on menu, and food that should have qualified for a Michelin star. Good service made this a memorable evening. Would certainly use again and recommend to friends. More

We stopped at Ashely hotel for a night on our way down the West Coast - the posh exterior and reception area looked delightful, but unfortunately that seems to be the best part of the hotel. This place is comfortable and cheap. Rooms are a reasonable size, warm with plenty of spare blankets & pillows. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The bathrooms look to be in need of an upgrade. Amusingly, the floor is on an angle. A bit of mould on the bathroom walls. Overall, pretty good for 3+ stars. More

Our Overseas Adventure Travel group of 14 stayed here for a couple of nights. Friendly, helpful staff. Small room with 2 double beds. WiFi access reasonable NZ$10 per day. Excellent hotel, friendly, heart warming, professional staff, fantastic restaurant, best food ive ever had and ive been to a lot of restaurants, clean, spacious, modern, great facilities, definitely the best place to stay in greymouth as ive stayed in other places in greymouth.
