Right next the the Abby Caves, with a dog and chickens walking around, clean rooms, cool Indonesian flair to the design, sweet kitchen - this place was great. A nice treat for budget travelers who want a laid-back atmosphere.

This place is just beautiful and amazing. And it's SO clean and comfortable. The beds are great (we stayed in a tripple room). The owners are sooo nice and their dog is amazing! =) I could go on forever describing the good things about this hostel but trust my words when I say that this is the best hostel in... More

Clean and private rooms and a separate kitchen. Nice rooms with Bali furnishings and great outlook onto the surrounding rural areas. Great access to the caves which are a must. As is the rock forest. Kitchen and lounge well furnished and they have everything you need. A bit far out of town for those without transport. Steep drive that takes... More

Guided by the Lonely Planet, we decided to stay at the Little Earth Lodge on our trip around the Northland. The lodge is out in the middle of nowhere, or so it seems - it's about a 10 minute drive from Whangarei. The actual lodge is beautiful and spotless, and we took advantage of the free equipment to go exploring... More

Stayed one night in August 2010 in this lovely, quiet and very clean hostel just out of Whangarei, where we would have had the best night sleep in all our trip around New Zealand, if the noisy German couple staying next door hadn't been so loud at night. (Walls are pretty thin) The location and scenery are pretty amazing, and... More

We'd booked from the Whangerei I-Site and followed the directions out from town, finally along a winding rural road. When we reached the driveway ... whoa.... down, down, down. Thank heavens it was light. The setting was lovely, the double room quite comfortable. There is a bathroom with shower, as well as a separate toilet in the main building. Apparently... More

The furniture in the rooms comes from Bali. Very quiet, nice view from the rooms. Very friendly staff. Clean. Charming.

Great for back packers with really helpful staff in a beautiful setting. Modern clean rooms with all the amenities required. And of course the price - an absolute bargain.

We really enjoyed staying at Little Earth. The rooms and the beds were excellent so we both had a great nights sleep. It is also located right next to the Abbey Caves so you can explore these for free and see thousands of glow-worms. We stayed there as we were diving at the Poor Knights so its kind of on... More
