I remember the "Wood Manors" being built in the late 80s early 90s around the country but never stayed in one. I was in Wanganui on a business occasion just prior to Easter and my company had booked the accommodation. Burwood Manor looked fresh dispite its age. Although the rooms are large and all the facilities are provided this is a grim and depressing place. Lack of light, meanness in installing the facilities and a mossy swimming pool meant that I was off at the break of day. The door to the spa and laundry rooms was locked. Of course I could have asked but my mind... More

We chose to stay at burwood manor, after reading the AA guide once we had arrived in Wanganui. We paid $135 for one night in a luxury room. Whilst the greeting was welcoming, the manor itself leaves much to be desired. The room was very dated. There was no shampoo etc as you would expect from a motel. The spa... More
