When I first knocked on the door, a lady reluctantly answered. She looked me up and down, scowled and said, '...Yes..?' 'Oh, urm, sorry, I urm, booked a room for two nights..?' She rolled her eyes and reluctantly let me in. I mean, it's not like she's getting paid to work there so.. Oh no, wait she is. I was... More

This review is fake. The writer did not stay at our hotel. It is very dishonest. Our review was placed on 26th April with very defamatory remarks and lies and on 28th April the same writer has written a review for Raglan Backpackers in New Zealand with over the top praise. We will take this further with Trip Advisor More

They stayed in a double room that we mistakenly discounted from $70 per night to $57. When you stay overnight ie as they claim till 5am then there are not refunds and the description of our facilities are lies. They seemed to be trying to cheat us out of there payment ie they did not appear to be authentic in... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 months and although we weren't in love with the place, it annoys me to see all these negative reviews. It is an old building, not in the best condition at all, the kitchen is not great, forks can be hard to find but it is no doubt the cheapest hostel in town.... More

Pleace, do not go to his hostel, it is NOT worth your money! After travelling 4 months, this is the worst hostel I have ever been! The place is filthy, oldy, dirty and unsafe. The furniture is old and really dirty! The time is stayed there, I saw nobody cleaning. There is only one toilet and shower for a whole... More

Ghastly is the politest word that springs to mind. What a filthy disgusting heap, what unpleasant malicious and decerebrate staff. Arrived late on a Sunday night, was invited to view the double room I'd booked, came back to reception and intimated my concern to my partner that the room was scabby and very dirty with no opening window except French... I have never written a review on here before but after staying here I felt the need to. This place is horrible, you really do get what you pay for......... not a lot! I have stayed in quite a few hostels and this is by far the worst. Our room- we got a triple room (initially for a week but... More

Awful place, filthy dirty, run-down old building. Gets cleaned with a filthy old mop. Its a hostel more than a hotel. Communal kitchen is disgusting - rags covered in grease and germs are meant to wash the pots and dishes. THe refuse sacks used for food rubbish get REUSED! How horrible! This must break some hygiene rules, surely! Dont stay... More

Firstly, I'm an idiot. I should have read the reviews of this place on Trip Advisor before I booked it but I was in a rush to sort out accommodation as the Australian Open was on and places were booked up already. I won't make this mistake again. This is unequivocally most disgusting place I have ever stayed. AVOID AT... More
