Stayed one night only in the Forest Room. Beautiful house and location 40 min walk along the river bank to Echuca. Yes you can hear the paddle steamer whistles! Breakfast and antipasto platter were superb. Allen very heplful in printing off map for our following day journey to Bright. Wished we could have stopped longer.

Could not fault this lovely house on the banks of the Murray. The previous reviewer had no right to claim that the location was misrepresented. Everything was first class from the room to the fantastic breakfast. Anne and Allen are great hosts who will interact with you as much or little as you like. Just perfect.

Alan and Anne were lovely hosts, but we chose to stay at Hodgson House because the website said "listen to the haunting sound of the paddlesteamers". When we arrived we found that it was around 300 metre walk to the river from the house. Paddlesteamers rarely pass by the house as it is a three hour trip from the port... More

We'd suggest any potential guest google map Hodgson House and they will clearly see on satelite shots that we are 150 metres from the Murray River, seperated by a redgum forest flood plain - which has not flooded since 1993 due to drought. We offer our guests the use of a private picnic table next to the main river bank.... More

We spent a great few nights at Hodgson House and were well looked after. Thre was a bottle of wine and antipasto platter to take down by the river when we arrived, very good breakfasts, snacks in the afternoon, and more little treats when we got back in the evenings. The room was very comfortable - the frogs were a... More

This B&B was recommended by one of our Aussie relations who stayed here earlier in the year. It lived up to their billing. Although slightly out of town, this very comfortable place was like home from home. Anne & Allen were great hosts, the accommodation was clean and spacious, and the lounge was a great place to relax after returning... More

Having recently stayed at this wonderful b&b, we can recommend it unreservedly as the best guest house we have stayed in (and we have stayed in a lot). The hosts, Anne and Allen Perry, could not do enough for us but, additionally, they genuinely offered a professional and caring service to their residents. On our arrival, we had ante pasta... More

We just had two nights at Hodgson House, a bed & breakfast in Echuca that is located by the Murray River. We loved it! Why? 1. It is set next to the Murray and a redgum forest called Wharparilla Flora Reserve - we could actually walk along a 3 kilometre (2 mile) river track to Echuca's historic port - it... More
