We arrived early afternoon, check in staff very friendly , our room was a refurbished room toward the back. Very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was not open that night, so staff directed us to the Wharf, where various eating places were, great choice. Continental Breakfast was included, quite satisfying, but a platter of Cheese and cold meats would be... More

I stayed one night. I had a superior twin room. Found the front counter service very good. I had a front room and there was a bit of noise, however it didn't bother me. The room was spacious, well appointed and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water in the shower. The TV was a little small. It's only... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in March; Fantastic location, staff are fabulous, room was comfortable, good block out curtains - the bathroom is a little dated but overall I would definitely recommend this hotel. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was good as the road was very busy, however we didn't have any noise issues... More

Stayed in early March 2012, pleasant check in, off street parking, good location opposite the park at the end of town...easy walk to many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Room well appointed, plasma TV, clean, similar to any other hotel / motel room in layout. Restaurant on site if you wish. Comfortable night sleep, re-booked for later in the week.... More

Be very careful when booking this hotel. Location is handy enough but the road front, park view rooms, are to be avoided. In dire need of modernisation and repair with hard beds and road noise these rooms are two star at best. Breakfast service is s-l-o-w because room service has priority and don't count on that being on time either.... More

This hotel is in a great location but the rooms are below average for the nightly room rate. They state there a hotel but look and feel like a cheaper run of the mill motel. And one of my pet hates is a inter-connecting room. If you can get a rate closer to the $100 mark would be ok for... More

The rooms are large and comfortable. You can hear traffic from the front rooms. The new refurbishished rooms are very nice as they have a new modern bathroom. The chairs, beds and tv are all new in all the rooms. Would be happy to stay here again. Very nice beeing across from the park

As the Co-ordinator of a Group of 42 persons, I was somewhat concerned when reading some negative reports on Trip Advisor --- to the extent that I emailed the Motel with my concerns. Melissa at the Commodore Regent ensured that we had beautiful, re-furbrished rooms (towards the rear of the premises, but uphill for those with mobility problems). We could... More

Tarting up the room with contemporary bedclothes did not detract from the remnants of the last occupant's poop in the toilet. I've stayed in some pretty shabby places right throughout the world, but they *have* all managed a clean toilet. Water glasses were also grubby. On the upside the location is pretty good and the park opposite is lovely.

This hotel was a disappointment following a wonderful week in Cradle Mountain. It was our last night in Tasmania and this hotel did not come up to what we had seen on the internet. On arrival the receptionist was very helpful and informative unfortunately our room was a big disappointment. It was in need of redecoration, new carpet and the... More
