"Banksia Cottage" built in 1898, in the historic Mort Estate in Toowoomba is a few minutes walk from the CBD in a quiet area. We found it great for my husband and myself and my elderly parents but it would also be ideal for a family as with two bedrooms and extra sleeping accommodation it can accommodate 5 and is fully fenced with a good side garden/yard for kids to play and a front verandah. There's also a park at the back.

It also boasts a fireplace for those cold winter nights and a roomy kitchen, dining and lounge with very comfy lounge chairs, TV, video, BBQ, linen and a bus stop outside and convenience store across the road. Everything has been thought of. Our visiting grandchildren enjoyed counting the cats that were hidden in some form or another throughout the house - wooden ones, cats made of pottery, some in photos - it was quite a game that they had to play both times they visited us. The cost is $130 for up to 4 people.
