Stayed recently for the first time in ages. A major refurb meant our spa room was nicely finished with a TV screen NASA would envy. Very spacious & clean, with a great layout which accommodated 3 adults with ease, but $219 for a provincial hotel room is a little steep. Still no secure or undercover parking and the hotel's sole... In desperate need of a make over and modernisation. The reception area is dark, cavernous and poorly laid out with a large coffe table and sofas seemingly in the way rather that useful. The room was dark, small and the bathroom even smaller. Worse, when I had a shower at 6.30 am the water was tepid. The receptionist said that... More

The hotel claims itself to be 4 1/2 stars, but it offered so much less. We booked primarilly for their promise of air-con, for the benefit of our daughter. It broke-down on the second night we were there and they didn't notice the fault themselves, they needed us to point it out. They then did nothing about for over 12... More

Nice hotel with a lovely country feel to it rather than the usual trendy wannabe hotels these days. Large hotel for the region and I recommend it. Room was on smaller side but that is the era these hotels were designed. All the rooms have been recently renovated using the classical period fittings etc. More

We took the "fantastic deal" on an executive room for AUD99 room only from the hotel's website. Good Points. Very good quality bed, linen, furnishings and toiletries. Right in the centre of town. Had a good night's sleep on a comfortable bed in a quiet room. Not So Good Points. The room was VERY small and there was nowhere except... More

In January, I stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and it was very disappointing. The hotel claims to be one of the best in Toowoomba - a huge exageration. I arrived late only to find I had to park on the street as the small carpark was full. I was greeted at the entrance by a smoking area ,... More

The Burke & Wills is a very long way from a 4 Star establishment. Our room was the most expensive " Spa Room " ( with the current water restrictions you are asked not to waste water by using the spa you have just paid extra to have !!)With the views of neighboring rusting roof tops and crumbling fixtures and... The Burke and Wills is one of my favourite hotels in Australia. I have stayed there several time and the rooms are always spotlessly clean. The decor is classy and welcoming, and the bed is awesome - big and comfy. We ordered room service and it was prompt and tasty. It is right in the centre of town, close to... More

We have stayed at the Mercure in Toowoomba a few times over th last 6 years. For price and location, I think its great. I do agree with previous review, that staff in resturant could be more foused and food prompt...however still exceptable!!. Rooms clean, walk to mall and so cheap..We will go back and recommend it to others, including... More

We were advised by a local that this was the best hotel in town. I'd really hate to see the worst. Upon arrival, we were advised that the smoking room booked was not possible as the property was now fully non-smoking. (no mention on their website!) We were therefore forced to leave the building to smoke outside and Toowomba is... More

We have not had smoking rooms available since july 2004, much to the majority of our guests delight. I realise its sometimes cold outside in Toowommba but not in February as you claim it was. We will always champion our guests right to sleep without the annoyance of another guests unsociable habits. More
