We recently stayed one night at the Mackay Resort Motel and found it to be in a very convenient location with eateries, chemists etc... in walking distance. Close proximity to the city centre and highway location. The room was very adequate and comfortable. The kids enjoyed a swim in the lovely pool. The restuarant was closed for the holiday period... Booked the Family Apartment on the "Off Season" at $169 p/n for 3 night stay for doctor visit in Mackay. Very impressed on arrival. Family Self Contained are set in a block seperate from the motel accomodation and behind the pool, well off Nebo Road. We were upstairs. Self Contained are motel style with the bathroom seperating the 2 rooms.... More

Lovely motel, very clean and modern. The service was excellent (the complimentary drinks on arrival were great)!! Stayed for two nights with my son while attending a sporting event so we were only there to sleep but we had a swim in their lovely pool and ate at their restaurant (the food was outstanding!!!) I was expecting just a queen... More

I suggest that you triple check your booking. I recently called and booked some motel rooms and was told there was plenty of availability. Turns out there is none and they emailed me to tell me. Staff clearly need to be better trained to check a computer system. Not happy! More

We stayed in a family room with a queen bed & 2 singles which had the bathroom in between for privacy. Nice clean modern accommodation which was reasonable because we shared with friends. Had trouble getting accom in Mackay as a lot of places are booked out because of the miners so make sure you book in advance for your... More

I stayed in a Queen room with two additional singles which would be very well suited to a family with children. The room is half divided by the bathroom but not cut off from each other. Each 'room' has its own TV and so would allow mum and dad to watch telly sepperate from the kids when you want to... More

I stayed here in a twin self contained room for $140 (special) with my husband and 2 young children on our way south. The location was good, easy to find off the highway. Our room was good - motel style with kitchenette - and well presented. The bathroom was clean although it could do with an update. I did not... More

Stayed at the Mackay Resort Motel on our way north recently. No booking, just strolled in. Reception was courteous and helpful. The rooms were nice with the queen bed and the single beds separated by the bathroom. The kids had their own TV. Overall cleanliness was up to standard and the decor and bedding was of a good quality. Wireless... More

Staying in Mackay I always look for affordability and comfortable rooms. This was the first time I stayed at the Mackay Resort Motel and I have to say I was really impressed. The staff were excellent and the rooms spacious and modern. Two thumbs up for the new furniture and bedding. Highly recommended. More

Billed as 4.5 star, the Mackay Resort Motel could not be further from a resort if it tried. Terrible pokey rooms with 80's decor and substandard fittings - my room was half painted with patches all over the wall. Situated directly on Nebo Road you are unlikely to get any sleep as you are serenaded by trucks racing up and... More
