I stayed here sometime ago and found the staff and accommodation perfectly suitable for the main purpose of our visit which was to view Platypus in the wild. We chose a simple motel style room and were not disappointed in anyway. The staff were friendly and informative and the room basic and comfortable. The location however was the main attraction... All the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Denis, one of the managers. I had booked an Echidna Lodge for 3 nights, but decided that the considerably larger Cedar Lodges were more suitable for 3 people, as our daughter then did not have to share our bedroom.. I was also very impressed with the resort's excellent website. We had... More

Our room was clean and comfortable, we got to see lots of Platypus but wish we had been warned about the leeches at check-in. We went for a walk before dinner and both my husband and I ended up donating blood. We enjoyed watching the nightly possum feeding. The restaurant was wonderful, managed by a lovely couple, the meals were... More

We booked a one bedroom chalet which gave us better cooking facilities. Whilst it could do with modernising, it was comfortable, clean and serviceable. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are various free events - bird watching, night wildlife spotting, and they will give you a lift to the start of rainforest walks. It was amazing to watch the... More

After driving through 329 kilometers of wide open country on a long lonely ribbon of road laced with natural bush, rivers and creeks, signs threatening death due to fatigue, big trucks, brahmin cows, sugar cane, podunk little towns, signs indicating koala bears and a detour, it was lovely to drive up the steep curvy road to the lodge in a... Highly recommend this property for couples looking for a romantic getaway. No phone service and limited internet options provide a sure bet to a non-interrupted stay. Rooms are fairly cheap and some include a fireplace (adds to the cabin style atmosphere). Very peaceful place yet plenty of activities (guided tours, platypus sites, bushwalking). Not recommended for the business traveller due... More

My sister and I stayed in one of the cabins that had a queen bed and bunks in the living area. It was a slightly unusual set-up, but suited us fine, and if we'd been better at lighting the fireplace in the room, the bunks would have been toasty warm all night long. The rooms are a bit dated, but... More

Although on first impression the resort looks tired and dated, the cabins were very clean and well equiped. Take food with you as the local store doesn't have very much. The slow combustion fire is great and a lovely man delivers a box of firewood daily. He even brought extra when we asked about using the BBQ outside our cabin... More

I don't leave reviews that often, but I just had to comment on my stay at Broken River mountain resort Eungella. Obviously Eungella is amazing location, but the resort's proximity to nature trails, local attractions and frolicking platypus is wonderful. The rooms are simple but clean and with your own fireplace, what more can you want? Most of all I... More

we stayed for 3 nights and loved our stay here. Included in the stay are a morning bird walk and a night walk. We saw multiple platypuses in the nearby river. The staff gave us a free shuttle to the start of a trail so we could hike it one way. Great cloud forest and wildlife. Restaurant onsite was excellent.... More
