I recently stayed at Rydges Gladstone with my wife and we enjoyed our stay. It is a bit dated hotel but they are up to date with the standard of services and well managed. As we stayed earlier with Rydges hotels in Auckland and Queenstown in New Zealand we preferred staying with them in Gladstone and they exceeded our expectation....

We stayed here on New Years Eve as a party of 4.
Beautiful hotel and a great location.

Stayed 2 nights on a stop over to heron island. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner for a decent price. Very comfy beds!

Dirty old carpets , scanky bathroom,smelly bed with crappy mattress,the only good thing this dump had going for it was the staff and the exit sign,never again unless they knock it down and replace it with a tent which would be far more pleasurable

The high cost reflects lack of competition rather than quality of hotel. Very sad, dated decor. The room was clean and had the basic requirement in refreshments and toiletries . It looks like the Ryges group is price gouging again... this is a terrible, old hotel that has had a very cheap facelift and dares charge $350 night for dirty rooms, collapsing furniture and almost enough space to swing a cat (but not quite)
