Hotel was not luxurious by any means but good basic shopping center directly across the road with an excellent coffee shop. It is quite a walking distance from the waterfront and the central Newcastle area but if you have your own transport that is ok. The hotel itself is due for a refurbish. The rooms although quite large and roomy... More

My husband and I stayed on a Saturday night and got the special rate of $99.00 per night. For the price it was OK but I would have been disappointed if we had paid much more. There were a number of issues: 1. The special price should have included a king size bed. The room that we had only had... More

Dear Kim, Thankyou for your feedback regarding your recent stay at Travelodge Newcastle and we appreciate the time you have taken to do this. It does seem there was an oversight in the bedding configuration for your room which I do apologise for. In relation to the points you have raised regarding the room, I have addressed your concerns with... More

Away from home, got a last minute rate of $99 per night with a great $15 hot breakfast. Managed to get a free parking spot at the front so saved $15 a night. The second night my door lock failed a number of times due to low batteries and the large cockroach that derived from under my bed did not... More

Stayed at Travelodge as part of a concert package this week. To be fair, package represented good value for money as the tickets for Cold Chisel were $99 each. Package had 2 tickets, accomodation, transfers to and from concert and breakfast for $375. Rooms were standard, with 2 standard twin single beds, shower pressure was basically non existent and took... More

My experience wasn't as terrible as some of these other reviews, but isn't a hotel I would recommend. The room itself was large but very outdated with faded furniture and a very old bathroom, it just needs a really good refurb. The bed itself was OK and I slept fine but everything felt old and dusty. The breakfast was not... More

There is a very loud night club across the road, you get charged for parking in the open air, there is no tea available for breakfast and the language from within the rooms can be heard throughout the hotle. More

This was one of the last few options we had, so we decided to stay here. It's close to the shops and a McDonald's across the road, and is relatively - and I stress relatively - clean. Generous parking. The receptionist was pleasant. Noise was a minor issue, but on the plus side, it's relatively close to a pizza place... More

How anyone can possibly have anything even remotely postive or complimentary to say about this "hotel" and I use the term generously... is simply astounding. The staff are certainly pleasant but the hotel itself is simply disgusting... from the rank stench of tobacco smell in the lift lobby on my way to my room to the filth of a bathroom... More

I am a regular weekday user of the Travelodge and find that the staff are very welcoming and most careful to ensure that my stays are trouble free. Nothing is a problem and maintenance and glitches are all fixed quickly and cheerfully. the location is excellent with many shops nearby, there is plenty of parking and good food in the... More

I did the wotif.com mystery room and got the travelodge in Newcastle, of course jumped on trip advisor right away and got blown away by the bad reviews, so I didn't hold any hope for this place. We arrived on Saturday at 1.00pm, they checked us in, even though check in was at 2.00pm and that was with a crowded... More
