I have stayed at a few different hotels in Newcastle over the years, but the Crowne Plaza is my favourite. The rooms are reasonably sized and have always been clean. The staff have always been helpful and accommodating. The hotel itself is located on the Newcastle foreshore overlooking the coal terminals - it may not be postcard material, but it's... More

This is by far the best hotel in Newcastle, situated right on the water with the sea plane nearby and many good restaurants a few minutes away. There is a friendly bar with a dining room next to it although I have not dined there as yet. My staff and I have been staying here for a number of years... More

Stayed here for a week recently for a business trip. The hotel location was excellent as it is located within the foreshore area. However, there are numerous large coal ships that uses the shipping terminal so be ready for loud horns from the ships (it's really loud!!) every now and then. Rooms are clean although the furnishings are a little... More

We stayed at the Crown Plaza on a Saturday night a few weeks ago after a day in the Hunter. The location of the hotel was especially good to go out and enjoy the waterfront restaurants and cafes. We booked a room for about $315 which included breakfast. After our enjoyable night out in the area surrounding the hotel, we... More

Dear Megl78 Thank you for taking the time to review us at Crowne Plaza Newcastle and I'm very sorry about your poor breakfast experience. I can offer no excuse for the lack of service in the restaurant other than to say that we are grateful for the opportunity to receive feedback and have already discussed this matter with our team... My husband chose trhe Crowne Plaza due to the fact it was close to the Civic Theatre where we were going to that night to see Kitty Flanagan the comediene. Who, by the way was terrific. On arrival at the Crowne we were met by the valet parking who took care of our car, booking in was very well conducted... More

We stayed for one night in a harbourview room. Unfortunately no balcony which woul have made the room feel a bit less claustrophobic. Watching the activity on the harbour was great as was strolling along to cafe on the waterfront for brekky. We didn't eat at the hotel as there was a large & rowdy wedding party around we preferred... More

The need for our car to be serviced at Hornsby prompted a train trip and an overnight stay in Newcastle. This hotel was chosen due to it being a short walk from Civic station. It is in a fabulous, atmospheric location right on a working harbor. The very long, somewhat claustrophobic corridor could, i feel have had another couple of... More

Dear Janni821 Thank you for taking the time to share your positive comments. What a great idea to take the train from Hornsby to Newcastle, it is a wonderful trip across the Hawksberry with time to relax instead of driving on the Freeway. We are fortunate with our fabulous location on the working harbour, on the promenade with many cafe's... More

Stayed for one night and I could not have asked for a better location, convenient to many cafes. Unfortunately I was not able to get a harbour view room but the room was clean, very comfortable and quiet. The parking is on the expensive side but there isn't really any other choice as street parking is impossible. I found the... More

We stayed here one night to break up a trip back to Sydney from the Hunter Valley. We had a one bedroom spa unit facing the working docks. This was fascinating as there was plenty going on and we felt like we were part of it all...ships and tugs coming and going...occasional loud foghorn blast. Amazing how many people stay... More

Dear Mr Basilious, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at Crowne Plaza Newcastle.
