Myself and my boyfriend done a six week tour of New Zealand and we had three nights in Queenstown to Bungy Jump and go to Milford Sound and explore. We booked in advance and got a really lovely apartment. Everything was clean Kitchen, Bedrooms, we even had a TV and a really lovely bathroom. The hostel came with board games... More

The Lakefront yha is a bit out of town (there is a central one as well). This was not a problem for me, as I was dropped off, but do consider the distance if you have a lot of heavy luggage (only about a 10 minute walk along a well lit main road by the lake). Check in was fine,... More

I stayed here for a week in April 2013 in a twin room and enjoyed my stay here. It was quiet, clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The kitchen facilities are great with plenty of pots, pans, crockery, gas jets and hotplates, and there are plenty of comfy chairs and sofas to sit in and relax. I booked... More

We used this as a cost effective base in Queenstown, as a couple, after we were able to book the lake view room with a balcony. Waking up to a view of the Remarkables each morning for next to no money at all was an amazing find and each night we made sure we found time to enjoy a bottle... More

A nice hostel, with a large kitchen and lovely views of the lake. Also side door exits so you don't have to walk down to reception to get out. Only negatives were that the people who cleaned the rooms on the days I was there never changed the doona/quilt covers for the new guests. Also the outside tables were filthy... More

We flew into Queenstown for 2 nights 4.3.13 and the Lakefront Hostel was our first taste of NZ and of staying in a YH. Reception staff were great and booked other YH stays for us. We had no problem with internet and our room was just a small double as ensuites where taken. There were seperate showers and single toilets... More

Excellent location just right at the lakefront. Just take 30secs to reach the beach for great view. Took 15mins to downtown area, but no worry as there is a bus stop just 20 steps away from the yha in case you are heading to other cities. However, disappointed with the reception lady with reddish brown hair who yelled at me... More

Stayed 4 nights in March 2013. Really great place. very clean and as it is about 10 minutes away from the CBD it doesn't suffer from the City noise that central BP's do. Three storeys but doesn't have lift which could deter those with limited mobility. Large kitchen and three lounges. Large place but has lots of bathrooms so no... More

I stayed here with two friends as part of our tour of New Zealand. We had a room to ourselves which was clean and spacious. There is a large kitchen with good facilities. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. It is about a ten minute walk from the hostel into town so if you are in Queenstown for the nightlife... More
