We chose the Quest Dunedin for it being in the "heart of the city" well its not the hotels fault but the city is just depressing, the 2 bedroom apartment has views of a factory and is just not inviting. there is that horrible orange light you get from the industiral areas that shines through... couldnt shut the blinds quick... This is a nice hotel but its is VERY noisy , perhaps if you got a room not facing the main road it might be ok it is central however and is right next door to the Cadbury factory !

I will never stay here again. The noise is unbearable. Rooms are good enough but that noise will drive you crazy. Looking at booking another motel instead if staying here.

What a beautiful city Dunedin is. We spent two days there and were lucky enough to stay at the Quest. We were accommodated in a one bedroom unit on the second floor. This was not a problem as a lift gave us easy access with our luggage. The rooms were clean, tidy and well appointed. A full kitchen allowed us... More

It is situated on a busy road and there was some noise in the room during the peak hours. But how can you complain about accommodation that is right opposite the Cadbury factory? It is walking distance from the station, supermarkets, CBD and churches. The room was big. The bed was big. Everything was clean, neat and tidy. Undercover off... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights when we tours around NZ. The receptionist for rude and clearly did not want to help us at all. You would think being in a customer service role, she would have some people skills or maybe at least smile instead of giving us a filthy look if we approached the counter -... More

We thought that due to the fact it was in the city, it was quiet enough. The staff were pleasant and it was our first visit to Dunedin and it happened to be graduation night so fortunately I had booked the accommodation way ahead. I had overlooked the fact that we wouldn't have a washing machine and dryer at this... More

We were here for four nights with thirteen other older couples from our Probus Club. We've stayed in many places like this around the world and the Quest Dunedin was on a par with most of them. It's basically a standard hotel room and disabled-access bathroom, with a cooking bench, fridge and microwave. It's fine for making scratch meals. Our... More

I don't recognise the descriptions given on these apartments. We found ours well equipped but everything was rather tatty - bedcovers and furniture worn and walls scratched etc. We found the location far from ideal - looking straight out on the Cadbury factory (machines running all night), and State Highway 1, with traffic all night. Very noisy. We had to... More
