The hosts own both an old Victorian-style house and its Edwardian neighbor, and have decorated the rooms in different themes (all incredibly elegant). We really enjoyed the atmosphere and lack of airconditioning and winter. The days were warm and nights cold, but the supplied heaters kept the room just warm enough (not hot). So close to everything, it could not be a better location. Definitely going back.

Qualifying my earlier review, this place IS a work in progress and has a growing charm that overlooks some of the less positive aspects. Of course it is the people that make the difference and like most places in NZ the service was very warm and friendly. It will be interesting to watch progress over the next few months.

The quaint period style exterior promised something special but the rooms on offer were somewhat disappointing.
