Stayed at the Kingsgate for two nights prior to new year. Found the hotel to be tired and dated. There was a sign in the reception and on each level as you came out of the elvators advising minor refurbishing was being carried out during November & December. Had a nice stay here with myself and two kids for three nights. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, fresh and comfy beds. Parking was fairly tight and we had to park on the street one night out of three, but this was free from 6pm to 9am. Did not use the restaurant. More

Whilst it is a bit tired, the rooms are roomy, the staff are always friendly particularly the restaurant staff. Functional, clean and good value. Definately not a 5 star but a nice homely stay if you are looking to relax. More

Booked an excellent value for money special which included room and great breakfast. Handy to the city area and quiet location. Good room with balcony and view over part of the city. Staff were friendly and helpful, Dining room was modern with a lovely carved wall mural at one end. Tv reception not good but otherwise a very pleasant stay. More
