This place is perfectly located, with a great shortcut to the city centre! The manager was very funny and had good knowledge of the area. I thought the room was good value for money and would recommend it!

One might not say that the Carillon is a modern motel with the latest commodities. However, it is a well located motel which offers clean and comfortable rooms and beds. The rooms are spacious with good functioning showers. The owner was very friendly and practical. A typical kiwi!! For its price, we strongly recommend this motel!

A room in the Carillon is less expensive than a double room in any of the local hostels -- with the same easy city access... AND you actually get parking included. I stayed at the Motor Inn for one night last month. It is easily reached from the centre of Wellington, especially if you can avoid the short climb up Thompson Street. Even so, it is well worth the effort. Phil, the manager, is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The place itself is charming and cosy.
