This is a nice, clean hostel in a good location with plenty of kitchen and dining space. Computer room, clean shared bathrooms, quiet floors. Near a grocery store and the museum. All in all, a well-run and clean hostel.

This is one of the best YHA's in New Zealand. Be sure to pay the "extra" $2-$5 for a FOUR (4) share room...then you will end up with a VIEW room of the bay & city, on one of the TOP floors.

Stayed here for three nights in a double room with the shared bathrooms. Would probably look for a different hostel, but if you enjoy the YHA atmosphere this is an alright spot. Overall it seems like a nice hostel, more hotelish. Did wait quite a while to check in but room was nice, great location, clean. But was only there 2 nights and they had kids/teenagers staying in most of the hostel (and its a big hostel) on a school trip. Lets just say it was not quiet at all, my roomie... More
