My husband and I recently spent 4 nights at Distinction. We booked a 1 bedroom superior room. Well it was small and badly designed. We were told it had a balcony. This was a metre wide unsafe floor pad, with a wobbly half metre high glass protection from falling 7 floors. From our room we looked directly into a concrete... More

Near the heart of cafes and movie house. View from room over street to building. Clean contemporary decor. Very boring, clinical. Really could not relax here but probably ok. if you only came back to it to sleep and show. A little street noise.

My friends and I stayed 2 nights for the Homegrown concert in Wellington and the hotel was awesome, above our expectations. The rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable and the views from the decks were amazing. Rahul the Manager was professional, friendly and welcoming and Dillion went out of his way to help us. I would highly recommend the... More

I stayed at the above location as it was originally an Accor Hotel but changed hands in Distinctions Hotels. The Location was great in the nearby Restaurant Area with plenty to choose from. I walked to Mr Chow everyday to use their internet and coffee just across the road. The staff were very helpful and nothing was a bother with... More

Quiet, clean and comfortable stay. Staff were helpful and polite. Close to everything in Wellington, easy to get about in town. Hallways and rooms decor a little too modern but otherwise a great stay.

Wellington Century City Apartments was a huge disappointment. The carpets were soiled, as were the bedspreads and doona. There are no drawers to store clothing, no hooks to hang anything in either bedrooms or bathrooms. The furniture is very minimal in the lounge/kitchen. One small couch for an apartment that sleeps 4 is not enough, particularly after a day's sightseeing,... More

Now rebranded as Distinction Hotel Wellington, it is the only difference from the last time I stayed. The views around most of the rooms are pretty average, you mainly see other buildings, piping, rubbish areas etc. Bathrooms are nice, and all come with a washing machine, but the shower could do with a bit better water pressure. The kitchen is... More

I thought this was a new hotel but it felt tired, dirty and totally soulless. The carpet is worn, dirty and looks old. There were smudges and stains on the furniture. The glasses didn't feel sparkly and clean. No air-conditioning meant I slept with the sliding door open so it was pretty noisy. Bare pipes sticking out of wall in... More

As mentioned in many of the previous reviews the hotel is based on a very noisy street - with the backpackers about 50m down the road and a nightclub a further 50m down. From Wed-Sun nights the noise from the street carries on until at least 1am. The only option is to keep the doors closed and as there is... More
